Unemployment

Those receiving unemployment must report the unemployment benefits they received during the year on their state and federal tax returns.

The Division of Employment Security will be issuing a 1099-G form with the necessary information in January 2011 and mailing them to those who have received unemployment during the year 2010. This information is also availableĀ online.

Those who have received unemployment insurance benefits on more than one program, (i.e. Regular state benefits, Emergency Unemployment Compensation 08, Extended Benefits, $25 Federal Additional Compensation (stimulus), Trade Adjustment Assistance, Re-employment Trade Adjustment Assistance, & Alternative Trade Adjustment Assistance), for Calendar Year 2010, will receiveĀ only one Form 1099G that includes the total gross compensation.
